Unblock Saigon – The Blockchain for Gaming

February 20, 2019

On February 28th, 2019, Asia Blockchain Review will be pleased to host members of TomoChain, CoinGecko, Axie Infinity, IOST and other blockchain enthusiasts at the “Unblock Saigon” meetup in Vietnam.

The gathering provides an opportunity for local and foreign blockchain industry leaders to meet and discuss the new subdomain of blockchain gaming created by CryptoKitties. The meetup will take place at The Hive Villa, Hồ Chí Minh City.

Blockchain gaming started to improve through the creation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).  NFTs have special characteristics that make each token unique, creating value through scarcity. NFT technology has enabled the growth of game development and startups, including those that center on non-fungible token trading or wallets that save these unique tokens. Due to this technology, the ecosystem of blockchain gaming has advanced over the past year.

In Vietnam, the video game industry is a major employer of young artists and computer engineers. Between 2013 and 2017, the number of gamers in the country more than tripled from 13 million to 40 million. Vietnam is among the countries with the highest number of gamers and can, therefore, offer big breaks to companies developing blockchain-based games. These companies are expected to share how they assist in making the gaming ecosystem better, more transparent, and more reliable.

After a brief welcome from the host, Asia Blockchain Review, speakers of the occasion will be introduced. The panel of speakers for the event will be drawn from leaders and partners of TomoChain, CoinGecko, Axie Infinity and IOST.

Speakers will dissect the various segments of the gaming industry and their relationship with blockchain technology, sharing their in-depth knowledge of the blockchain landscape at the meetup.
