Unblock Kuala Lumpur: Decoding the Securities Token Offering (STO) hype

January 10, 2019

On January 15th, Asia Blockchain Review is pleased to bring back our “Unblock” event series with the meetup known as none other than “Unblock Kuala Lumpur: Decoding the Securities Token Offering (STO) hype!“ in Malaysia. At this meetup, we will dive headfirst into one of the most talked-about topics within the blockchain space – Securities Token Offering. Audiences are all set to be enthralled by speakers from prominent players including Gibraltar Stock Exchange, Wanchain, Bibox, BXM, GLT Law and Neuroware. Our speakers will be exploring STO through various angles, including insights and discovering the future of crypto exchange.

To discover where the crypto exchanges are headed, the event will feature a diverse array of speakers:

  • Chuan Ji Lim, who is in charge of Partnerships for the APAC region of Gibraltar Stock Exchange (GSX), will deliver a session on what the future holds for Securities Token Offerings.
  • Liu Guojie is Managing Director of Bibox SEA. In this position, he exercises oversight on the operations, marketing and business development of the company both in Singapore and across the rest of Southeast Asia. At the meetup, he will join the Fireside Chat with the theme “Market is bull, will crypto exchange survive?”
  • Mark Smalley, Co-Founder & CEO of Neuroware, has been, in the recent years, creating R1.my – a technology training and consultancy group which works within the private sector, start-ups, as well as government agencies who need help implementing and adopting new technologies. His expertise and knowledge in the field have been adapted by massive organizations and revered by many, including the 500 Startups accelerator program in Silicon Valley. He will feature in the Panel Discussion on the future of STO and preparation of financial institutions towards the circumstances.
  • From Wanchain, Mark Tan – SEA Business Development Director, will also jointly discuss the future of STO and the act of financial institutions to prepare for the circumstances in the Panel Discussion. With more than five years of commercial and corporate banking experience, Mark will bring interesting insights to the panel.
  • Also featured in the meetup as panelist will be Gan Ming Chiek, Partner of GLT Law. Ming Chiek is a corporate, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) lawyer who has extensive experience in local and cross-border M&A, foreign direct investment, ASEAN based private equity and venture capital transactions and corporate structuring matters.

We hope to see you on January 15th, at Common Ground Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur for some engaging and in-depth discussions as well as networking with fellow professionals. If you can’t make it to this event, stay tuned for our next meetup in this “Unblock Kuala Lumpur” series.
