Thailand’s NTT Communications to Establish Innovation Lab for Blockchain, AI, IoT

May 2, 2019

NTT Communications (Thailand) has announced that the information and communications technology firm will set up an innovation lab to develop blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for businesses across multiple sectors, while also expanding the firm’s data center at Amata City Industrial Estate.

President of NTT Communications (Thailand) Manabu Kahara has revealed that the company’s innovation lab will demonstrate the latest technological solutions aimed at serving the manufacturing and security insurance industries to create greater efficiency in their clients’ business operations.

Kahara added that the company is set to continue the expansion of its data center at Amata City Industrial Estate, scheduled for launch this July. The data center is being developed in line with The Thai government’s policy to support investment in its Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The center is expected to enhance stability and security for the company’s data operations.

The firm has expressed confidence in the economic growth of the country. “Thailand offers the highest potential growth for our business in this region,” Kahara stated. “The Thai government is still driving and supporting the Thailand 4.0 scheme and the EEC project. The top three business services that generate revenue to the company are networking, the data center, and cloud services. We will also focus on providing a hybrid cloud to the market.”

Kahara revealed that by the end of the fiscal year 2019, NTT Communications is projected to see revenue growth of 10% compared to last year. Currently, the firm has approximately 1,000 customers, with roughly 20% being Japanese businesses based in Thailand.
