Taiwan has announced the formation of a blockchain alliance as it seeks to develop an environment for assisting firms and developers looking to enter the blockchain industry.

As reported by Digitimes, Chen Mei-ling, incumbent Minister of the National Development Council (NDC), made the announcement on July 2 at the opening day of Asia Blockchain Summit 2019 held in Taipei.

Serving as an Industry Communication Platform

In addition to providing funds to developers, the Taiwanese government has been working to accelerate fintech development.  It has also been striving towards overall industry transformation as the island aims to become a major hub for global blockchain development, while further utilizing the technology to enhance state governance.

The alliance will serve as a communication platform among industries, governments and academic institutions, enabling experts in various fields to exchange ideas and integrate data and resources. Additionally, it will focus on cultivating talent and facilitating collaboration with blockchain players worldwide, while pushing and adjusting related policies.

Cooperating with Blockchain Players Worldwide

During the Taipei summit, ACE Exchange noted that it has cooperated with Asia Blockchain Accelerator (ABA, Asia Blockchain Media (ABM) and ACE Blockchain Fund (ABF) in establishing two crypto exchange centers in Taiwan.

David Pan, president of ACE Exchange and CEO of ABA, said ACE Exchange serves all of Asia, with the firm having imposed strict regulations on itself and receiving supervision from KPMG. Pan added that it remains the only blockchain accelerator in Taiwan with a strategic partnership with Binance Chain.

ACE Exchange has also partnered with Taiwan blockchain Academia, which was founded by 15 local universities, to jointly incubate blockchain talent.
