Tribe Accelerator — a blockchain accelerator supported by Singapore’s government — held a Demo Day on July 3, 2019 at Facebook’s APAC headquarters. The event showcased companies that have participated in Tribe Accelerator presenting their innovative blockchain solutions.

Accelerator Supports Growth in DLT

Apart from holding events like Demo Day, Tribe Accelerator has facilitated the fundraising of S$16.8 million for firms in its program, partly due to Tribe’s corporate partnership network with major corporations including R3, BMW Asia, Intel, Nielsen, and PwC Singapore.

Among the blockchain projects highlighted at the event, online platform Quotz, operated by sgCarMart, allowed buyers and sellers to access the service history of vehicles.

Meanwhile, halal supply-chain solution provider WhatsHalal offered a mobile application for end consumers to verify halal products on the market.

Another company, Digix, highlighted solutions for businesses where users can verify and secure gold bullion using Decentralized Ledger Technology (DLT).

Introducing a Blockchain Programming Academy

At the event, Tribe Accelerator introduced a blockchain programming academy Tribe Code aimed at forming partnerships with blockchain firms to teach necessary skills to new developers in the growing industry.

Managing Partner of Tribe Accelerator Ng Yi Ming said demand for DLT solutions are growing.

“Our participants demonstrate that they have real market-ready solutions, and the market is responding with the quality and number of partnerships and investments channeled,” he disclosed, adding that, “People are genuinely eager for more everyday uses of blockchain and this is reflected in the uptake of regional investments, and corporate partners that are coming onboard in the months ahead.”
