RISE, a regional corporate innovation powerhouse based in Bangkok, recently held the RISE Innovation Week that ran from September 23-27 in Bangkok to gather experts and enthusiasts across the tech industry as part of an initiative to drive innovation in the region.
Supachai Parchariyanon, RISE founder and CEO, revealed that the event brought together corporates, government sectors, startups, accelerators, investors, innovation hubs and tech enthusiasts from across the region to fuel future collaborations.
“This year’s event was focused on three main activities: Tour, providing opportunities for startups to meet corporates and deliver moonshot pitches; Talk, bringing world-class speakers to share their insights and experiences; and Talent, a one-on-one tech startups and tech talents recruiting session to expand the innovation team within corporates and government sectors,” Supachai said.
RISE Innovation Week also captured megatrends across different industries with solutions for agriculture, education, health and energy also presented at the event.
Throughout the five-day event, the five main themes explored were Corporate Innovation, Robotics & Internet of Things (IoT), Quantum Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Exponential Technologies.
Blockchain was also a key topic at RISE Innovation Week, with speakers such as Jirayut Srupsrisopa, Co-Founder & Group CEOof Bitkub; Paul Nattapatsiri, Chief Product Officer of Band Protocol; and Nicole Nguyen, Head of Asia Pacific at Infinity Blockchain Ventures.
Since its establishment, RISE has been working with corporates and governments across Southeast Asia to drive innovation through its accelerator and entrepreneurship programs. According to RISE, it has engaged over 1,000 startups from more than 20 countries in the past 2 years, with a combined valuation of over US$900 million for its startup projects.
