PwC Ready to Provide Cryptocurrency Services to Clients

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) announced that the firm is ready to use the Halo suite to offer auditing and other services to its customers doing crypto-related businesses.

Auditing Crypto-Related Companies with Halo

According to Thai news outlet The Nation, PwC stated that Halo will allow the firm to provide auditing and other services to its clients dealing in crypto-related businesses.

PwC revealed that Halo “interrogates the blockchain to independently and reliably gather corroborating information about blockchain transactions and balances,” to enable the multinational company to reliably audit businesses.

According to a representative from PwC, “We are also working with companies, for whom we are not the auditor, to help them address the new opportunities and challenges of blockchain and cryptocurrency, including helping them to implement the processes and controls they will require in order to obtain assurance reports from their auditors.”

PwC Moves to Adapt to Emerging Crypto Industry

With Halo, PwC is empowered to provide services to customers dealing with currencies such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond, LiteCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple.

PwC Global Assurance Leader James Chalmers said that auditors must keep up with the technologies used by customers.

“It is important as companies continue to digitize we, as auditors, keep up with technology changes in the market, continue to develop audit tools that meet the needs of emerging technologies and serve the changing and developing demands of our stakeholders,” Chalmers said.

Similarly, Chanchai Chaiprasit, Assurance Leader and Partner of PwC Thailand, said the Thailand office is also gearing up to provide services to Thai firms interested in conducting crypto-related activities such as initial coin offerings (ICOs).
