Korean startup GameXCoin, the gaming arm of Blockchain Ventures, has officially launched its blockchain-based title “Flyff for GameXCoin” along with its gaming platform app “GameXCoin” on July 25th. According to GameXCoin CEO Kai Kim, Flyff for GameXCoin is the first game in the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) genre to be integrated with blockchain technology.

Developed by Gala Lab, Flyff, or ‘Fly for fun’, is a Korean MMORPG for the PC that features a flying system. According to a report by KoreaTechDesk, the game has gained in popularity and player base in several other countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, and the United States, boasting over 50 million users around the world.

FLY Tokens Introduced as In-Game Currency

FLY coin is the cryptocurrency used in Flyff. The tokens can be either used as in-game credits or exchanged for GXC coins to be used with services featured on the GameXCoin platform

The game rewards players with FLY coins for playing it, especially from participating in special events taking place after the official release. Players can obtain 7,777 FLY by hunting certain monsters and up to 33,000 FLY in login rewards, provided that they log in to play the game regularly.

Easy Entry into Blockchain Space via Gaming

CEO Kim explained at the official release that the game has been developed as a gateway to adopting blockchain for those without prior knowledge of the technology.

“Our team designed the infrastructure of our product so that the public can easily utilize it even without blockchain-related knowledge. We will be working hard to introduce various contents, ultimately contributing to the popularization of blockchain games,” he said.
