Klaytn: KLAY Token to Be Listed on Upbit Indonesia

Klaytn, a public blockchain platform backed by South Korean internet company Kakao, revealed that its KLAY token has been listed on Upbit Indonesia since September 26, 2019.

Aiming for Mass Crypto Adoption

As stated in its press release, Klaytn was developed by Kakao’s blockchain unit, Ground X, with its mainnet launched in June 2019. The company said its mission is to “trigger mass adoption of blockchain”, and the platform has already collaborated with 52 service partners across various industries

Meanwhile, Upbit is a cryptocurrency exchange operated by South Korean fintech firm Dunamu, with global exchanges in Singapore and Indonesia.

Ground X CEO Jason Han, who also heads the development of the Klaytn platform, revealed that the listing is a big step forward.

“This initial KLAY listing on Upbit marks a significant milestone […] We expect more developers to join our Klaytn ecosystem, and together with our community, we look forward to becoming Asia‘s leading blockchain platform,” Han said.

Developing a Service-Centric Blockchain Platform

The company says KLAY can only be transferred between Upbit Indonesia and Upbit Singapore wallets, with the KLAY listing on Upbit Singapore to be announced at a later date.

Klaytn is a global public blockchain platform developed by Ground X, the blockchain subsidiary of South Korean internet giant Kakao. 

Developers have stated that Klaytn was designed as a service-centric blockchain platform providing intuitive development environment and friendly end-user experience, built upon solid reliability and significant stability with substantial service development for mass adoption.
