Ground X which is the blockchain-based subsidiary of the South Korean leading Kakao on message app, has announced it would work with an agency of government on deploying blockchain projects that concentrating on social and public services.
Ground X division was founded by Kakao in an attempt to follow the latest trend, blockchain. The Tokyo-based subsidiary has the vision that is going to develop an global blockchain-based platform. Ground X would collaborate with the Seoul Digital Foundation, formed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2016 to proceed digitizing infrastructure of the national capital.
As long as Kakao could not present details that might be developed as part of the initiative, Lee provided several blockchain use cases in social issues, for example tracking the temperature during the delivery of heat-sensitive vaccines in developing countries.
As reported by CoinDesk Korea, Lee Jong-Gun announced the cooperation at this “Blockchain for Social Impact” event. Besides, Jaesun Han, CEO of Ground X, stated that blockchain is not totally perfect and projects might probably get a “hybrid approach,” with only the essential parts being put on a blockchain, while the remaining ones would still work on legacy systems.
The development process would begin in two last quarters this year, Han added.
