Huobi Indonesia is introducing services that will allow customers to directly exchange the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) and Tether (USDT) while offering trading for over 250 cryptocurrencies.
According to Aithority, Huobi Indonesia is launching a new fiat gateway to serve Indonesian investors, with David Chen, Senior Director of Huobi Cloud, revealing that the service is in line with the company’s strategy to expand its business. He stated:
The new fiat gateway is part of Huobi’s global expansion strategy and reflects our ongoing commitment to working with strong local partners in key markets across the globe […] By continuing to add new fiat/crypto pairs for Huobi Cloud 2.0, we want to make it frictionless for investors anywhere in the world to trade digital assets on a trusted and proven platform.
Indonesia boasts the highest population in Southeast Asia, which makes the nation a huge playing field where firms can drive the growth of crypto trading.
Huobi also said local investors will be able to directly access “large amounts of liquidity” through Huobi Cloud.
Huobi Indonesia CEO Xiong Dan disclosed that the company has plans to lower barriers for individuals looking to invest in crypto while driving Huobi Indonesia to “become the largest Indonesian exchange within the next six months.”
“The Indonesian Rupiah fiat gateway is an exciting milestone for the Huobi Indonesia team,” Xiong added. “We will continue to expand the Indonesian market, consolidate and improve service quality, fulfill market commitments, and accelerate the development of local businesses.”
Huobi Cloud was initially launched in 2018, since then, the company has opened more than 120 exchanges with various local partners such as Huobi Argentina, Huobi Thailand, Huobi Russia, and Huobi Indonesia.
