Enjin, a blockchain-powered gaming platform, recently announced on its blog page ‘Medium’ that it had successfully closed a deal with Japan-based HashPort Accelerator in an attempt to expand its business to Japan. The move followed the firm’s success in expanding into South Korea last year, according to a report by the news outlet Coin Rivet.
The company is looking to strengthen their global presence by tapping into Japanese gaming industry, which has more than 67 million gamers and approximately US$19 billion in revenues circulating in the industry.
As reported by Newzoo, Japan is currently the world’s third-largest gaming market. The strategic partnership between Enjin and HashPort Accelerator marks the two companies’ intention to introduce blockchain into the market, hoping to attract a massive number of gamers and game developers.
“HashPort will serve as a business liaison and provide us with localization support, including assistance with getting Enjin Coin (ENJ) listed on cryptocurrency exchanges and business matching with Japanese companies with potential synergies,” stated Enjin’s blog post.
Enjin and HashPort have the same goal of pushing blockchain adoption and creating a blockchain-based ecosystem in Japan. The partners will also deploy various blockchain products and services that offer possibilities and new potential to Japanese game industry.
“The HashPort team has a great track record of introducing and popularising high-potential products to Japanese markets,” says Maxim Blagov, CEO of Enjin.
“It’s an honour to work with them in bringing Enjin to Japan, where blockchain is proving to be a powerful force for social development. With 67 million players, Japan is home to some of the most innovative and forward-thinking developers in the world.”
