Blockchain-powered media services company PUBLISH Inc. has successfully attracted a decentralized content platform into its ecosystem. According to Token Post, Contentos has merged its ecosystem with that of PUBLISHalliance.
PUBLISH Inc. is a South Korea-based company that provides media solutions using blockchain technology. It is responsible for PUBLISHprotocol, an open-source blockchain protocol designed to make news production and consumption participatory, as well as PUBLISHsoft, a content management and end-to-end publishing system from which publishers can issue their own cryptographic tokens.
The company’s latest major project is PUBLISHalliance, envisioned as a media enterprise consortium pooling together all of PUBLISH Inc.’s blockchain solutions. Recent additions to the alliance include Middle Eastern and North African digital news site Al Bawaba.
Contentos, the group behind “Home Planet” and maker of Contentos Chain, a blockchain designed for the content creation industry, will be joining some 60 other media organizations now part of PUBLISHalliance.
The group, with backing from Binance Labs and IDG Capital, brings to the alliance a decentralized ecosystem through which content creators can freely produce, authenticate, and distribute their assets.
Jean-Luc Leese, CIO of PUBLISH, said, “We look forward to working with Contentos and leveraging its expertise in applying blockchain technology to copyright, which is an area PUBLISH is actively looking into.”
He elaborated that “PUBLISH offers publishers using its content management system the option of publishing news articles to an EOSIO testnet,” but said in the future it wants them to “easily publish content to one or more blockchains of their choice.”
