Blockchain Centre established in 2014 in Melbourne announced on July 23rd that it is launching its 16th branch in Bangkok, Thailand with the aim of serving as an education and knowledge hub while driving adoption for the technology.

Creating New Opportunities for Thai Enthusiasts in DLT

At the opening ceremony, Ratchata Sethworadej, Founder and CEO of Blockchain Centre Bangkok, revealed that her goal in setting up the center is to promote further implementation of distributed ledger technology (DLT) in the country.

“Today, our lives are driven by technology, while a large number of Thais still lack the opportunity to learn about blockchain,” said Ratchata. “The center will be open to the general public of all ages and occupations to gain knowledge about blockchain. We are working with Glowfish, a community space that allows us to hold events as part of Blockchain Centre Bangkok.”

Driving Blockchain Adoption with Local Partners

Blockchain Centre Bangkok is committed to building an academy for technical talent, contributing to the local ecosystem, and promoting international exchanges and cooperation in the global tech industry.

Activities carried out by the Centre include events and community building, education & training, incubation programs, promoting the talent pool, and carrying out cross-border collaborations.

According to the Centre’s website, there are branches in over 10 countries including China, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, the United States, Canada, Russia, Malaysia, Lithuania, and Colombia.

The key pillar of Blockchain Centre is leveraging local partners and regulatory support to ensure a vibrant, knowledgeable, and trustworthy blockchain community that increases the social impact of the emerging technology.
