Bangladeshi authorities announced that the government will send graduates to receive further IT and blockchain training in India and Japan using the country’s IT fund.
According to a report by Cointelegraph, the Bangladeshi government revealed its project to fund the overseas studies of 100 recent IT graduates, with the aim of training them in areas such as machine learning, cybersecurity, distributed ledger technology (DLT), and artificial intelligence.
Moreover, another 200 graduates in the fields of computer science, software, as well as electrical and electronic engineering will receive state scholarships for further education in future IT trends.
The official website of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority stated that applicants under 32 years of age must first pass an exam issued by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division to apply for the program.
According to a government report, the education initiative is funded under a government budget that was established with a line of credit from India with the aim of developing local ICT and hi-tech parks. The US$208 million fund was launched for disbursement from July 2017 to June 2020.
Educational institutions around the world are now offering courses in blockchain and other digital technologies. Earlier this year, the University of British Columbia in Canada revealed that it will be offering a blockchain and DLT course for Master’s and Ph.D. students.
Meanwhile, Ripple via its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) is also working with universities in Japan to promote research in blockchain by offering scholarships to students at the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University.
