Samsung SDS, the IT subsidiary of South Korean conglomerate Samsung Group, has launched Nexledger Universal, elevating its enterprise blockchain platform.
Nexledger Universal provides an application programming interface (API) that can be applied to Samsung SDS’s own NCA (Nexledger Consensus Algorithm) and other blockchains such as Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum.
The platform was confirmed in the press release to allow users to create different applications, such as for authentication, proof of originality, and payment settlement.
Jeanie Hong, Senior Vice President and Leader of the Blockchain Center of Samsung SDS, said, “We plan to expand our cloud-based blockchain platform by registering Nexledger Universal on other cloud marketplaces.”
Nexledger Universal, now available in Microsoft’s Azure Marketplace, allows users to experience a readily available cloud system without the need for servers or installing applications.
According to Hong Yuan Zhen, President and CEO of Samsung SDS, blockchain technology is a great tool to boost productivity in the manufacturing industry.
“In the whole process of supply chain management, communication is very important, data needs to be collected, and through blockchain and AI, we can improve processes and enhance trust so that we can share information better, so a healthy process is established,” Hong Yuan Zhen said.
With the newest version of Nexledger Universal, the time and resources required for developing blockchain applications will be dramatically reduced. Consequently, business innovation through blockchain technology can be achieved at ease.
