The Middle Eastern region’s first-ever accredited diploma program designed to train social media influencers is being introduced by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Tahawul Tech, the Social Media Influencers Diploma Program was created in collaboration with several institutes in the UAE and will instruct students towards becoming effective producers of content tailored to social media platforms.

DPC announced that the accredited diploma program, initially revealed in October last year, will begin on September 8th this year and instill participants with professional knowledge for social media influencing. The program was developed in collaboration with the American University in Dubai’s Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC).
Ali Jaber, Dean of the MBRSC, explained that the program was designed by a group of leading university professors specializing in strategic communications, journalism, media, and media innovation. Divided into six courses, the program covers strategizing and creating social media content, the use of technology, and the fundamental skills needed to become an influencer and maintain a strong presence in social media.

DPC President Mona Al Marri indicated the program was aligned with the goals of the Arab Social Media Influencers’ Club launched by Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to enhance influencers and spur innovations within the digital and social media realms.
The president added that the program is “in line with Dubai’s vision to develop and empower talented individuals in various fields” while underlining it is “the first academic program of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa.”
