Corporations in India Embrace Digital Transformation

April 29, 2019

Corporations across India are shifting their focus to training employees to embrace the digital transformation across different industries.

According to The Economic Times, companies including KPMG, Infotech, ITC, Accenture, and RPG Group are all introducing various programs and initiatives to encourage the adoption of digital technology in their organizations.

IT services provider CSS Corp has introduced a program for their staff to use their innovation labs, in order to test new technology and develop digital solutions. The company also launched an education platform called ‘Reimagine’ for the purpose of training employees on emerging digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR).

Meanwhile, at software developer ThoughtWorks, a platform called ‘Insights’ was rolled out for staff to seek the latest updates and opinions on digital technology, experience design, and product thinking. The company is also encouraging employees to learn about new trends and transformations with blockchain-based solutions, the Internet of Things (IoT), and machine learning.

At RPG Group, a digital academy has been launched to promote the use of technology among its staff. According to the company, leaders have already received training, and another 150 employees are expected to participate. The academy’s courses place an emphasis on smart products and analytics.

The digital transformation movement has been gaining steam for some time. Last year, KPMG India organized an innovation contest with over 60,000 ideas submitted by staff. The contest was aimed at driving innovation with industry experience, digital technology, and creativity. Moreover, the firm disclosed that employees are undergoing training to ensure that they have a firm grasp on digital platforms and tools to enhance their skills.
