A Vietnamese blockchain platform has partnered with a major Taiwanese institute of higher learning to facilitate the learning of Mandarin.
Reported by Vietnam News, Vietnam’s Beowulf has joined hands with National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) for a Mandarin language teaching program.
A B2B platform centered around blockchain powered communication services, Beowulf is to use its know-how regarding global connections to proliferate courses provided by NTNU, considered one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan and top-ranked among global institutes.
The main thrust of the partnership is on doing away with barriers to teaching and learning Mandarin Chinese, with learners being offered an international standardized certificate in the language upon completing their studies. The program is to resemble Cambridge’s IELTS Certificate for English learners.
Facilitating NTNU’s Mandarin program, Beowulf has created a distance learning platform dubbed “Victoria” using its global communication blockchain infrastructure. The platform will make teaching materials, lesson plans, resources and even teaching methods available to students and instructors worldwide. The two organizations will also collaborate on finding teachers and admitting students with NTNU to handle evaluating learners and the provision of certificates.
“Ultimately, it’s about making language education accessible and affordable to more students, and in the process, helping raise the profile of one of Taiwan’s most accredited institutions,” said Beowulf founder and CEO Dr. William H. Nguyen. “Beowulf’s blockchain-based solution helps connects Mandarin teachers and students who want to learn Mandarin anytime, anywhere”.
