Singapore’s government-supported blockchain accelerator, Tribe, recently announced that Ubisoft, Citibank, and IBM will become corporate partners to help startups market their products and scale operations globally, according to a report by the Straits Times.
Participants in Tribe Accelerator include startups from various industries, such as Binance-backed digital identity and password management company Torus, on-demand telehealth startup WhiteCoat, and SGInnovate-backed blockchain digital entitlements firm AID:Tech.
For the first phase, which ended in July this year, Tribe Accelerator raised over S$16.8 million in funds for participating startups within three months on a globe-trotting demo-tour spanning Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, and San Francisco.
Ng Yi Ming, Managing Partner at Tribe Accelerator, said, “The success of the inaugural batch far surpassed our initial expectations. By ensuring all parties are aligned with a common objective, it has greatly reduced information overlaps and made solution integration prompt.”
Tribe Accelerator was launched in December 2018 and is supported by Enterprise Singapore, a government agency established to develop the startup ecosystem in Singapore. The first edition of the accelerator’s program included corporate partners such as BMW Group Asia, Intel, and Nielsen, among others.
