Unblock Kuala Lumpur: Ever Wonder How Blockchain Can Enhance Traceability in the Halal Food Industry?

On Wed, February 20th, Asia Blockchain Review is pleased to announce our next meet up “Unblock Kuala Lumpur: Ever Wonder How Blockchain Can Enhance Traceability in the Halal Food Industry?”. We’re collaborating with MIGHT, Fruitchain, FinTech Association of Malaysia and Carinae to investigate blockchain opportunities in the agriculture sector and supply chain industry. Our speakers will discuss how Blockchain technology could improve Halal food traceability.

The event will feature a diverse array of speakers:

  • Mastura Ishak who is the Programme Director for blockchain at the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), an agency under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Department. MIGHT is a Private-Public Partnership platform focused on harnessing technology for business and business for technology. Mastura promotes efforts the develop blockchain for the local ecosystem by facilitating the network between private and public entities. In one of Unblock KL’s previous meetups, Mastura mentioned that Malaysia could focus on blockchain applications that are strategically advantageous for the country, one of which includes Halal food supply chain applications.
  • Steve Nguyen is the project director of Fruitchain. Fruitchain is focused on how consumers can easily check the product’s origin information as well as the manufacturer’s information. Steve was previously an Executive Assistant to the CEO of HD SAISON – one of the largest and oldest consumer finance companies in Vietnam.
  • Mohammad Ridzuan Abdul Aziz is the president of FinTech Association of Malaysia (FAOM). FAOM is the focal point for fintech initiatives related to Malaysia’s financial industry, regulatory development and knowledge sharing, both Islamic and conventional.
