Vottun is a company that is staying ahead of the curve in this current pandemic that is encompassing the world. It’s Immunity Passports are poised to be a game-changer for all concerned. We recently caught up with Rohan Hall, Founder/CTO/CEO Vottun USA for his thoughts on things. This is the second part of our interview series with him.

How is the new normal going to be for employees to navigate through? How is the new reality going to impact the way companies go about their daily operations?

Employees going back to work will want to know that they are working in a safe environment. This will require testing of individuals that they are working with. People that are tested will need to prove their test results and with Vottun software, they can easily do this with a QR code. Once employees know that they are working in a safe environment they will be able to be productive. Going to restaurants and events may also require similar proof of health status. With a combination of testing, technology, and acceptable policies I am pretty optimistic that we will be able to start getting back to work over time.

A key point regarding this technology is that the healthcare industry is trying to figure out immunity. We are not talking about a technology that proves immunity today. Vottun’s technology shows Proof of Health status (ex: Positive, Negative). This means that I can prove that I was tested in the last 3 days or 5 days etc. and I can prove my test result. Employers will have policies about test frequency and what’s required for their employees to come back to work. This will drastically reduce the risk of who is allowed to enter into an establishment. Once we have a reliable immunity test then our software will be able to show who is immune and for how long as well as per the determination of the testing facility.

How do you see this pandemic playing out? Experts have said a vaccine is at least 2 years away, and then it could take at least 3 years to get the whole world vaccinated. Covid-19 is being called the next polio-like disease. Those who recover may still have real emotional scars and physical deficiencies. What’s your take on all this?

I agree with this. It’s a pretty nasty virus. We will need to learn how to live with it and cope until there is a vaccine. But a part of this is to figure out how to continue with our lives. We cannot stop the economy and our lives for 2 or 3 years. So we need to be creative about our solutions. Even with the best solutions our children will have missed out on time with their friends, graduation, and other important events. Others that have lost loved ones will have difficulties with this loss. So I do believe that this will have a very long term impact emotionally for a lot of people.

Be sure to check out the third and final part of our interview with Rohan soon!
