Decentralized Funding Method for Film Industry

Founded in 2017 by Taiwanese film director Jack Hsu, SELF TOKEN is a blockchain-based token project intended to disrupt financing for movies and offer viewers opportunities to fund their favorite filmmakers. The project has created an ecosystem that supports and promotes the Taiwanese film industry.

SELF TOKEN will employ blockchain to establish a decentralized and accountable method for transactions in film businesses. Hsu explained:

“Blockchain can disrupt existing film giants in the industry. We’ve found a solution to engage viewers and build deep communities without having to produce a Hollywood scale film.”

SELF: The Ethereum-Based ERC-20 Token

Based on Ethereum, SELF is an ERC-20 token that can be used on every platform across all regions. With the transparency and immutability of blockchain data, SELF users can earn rewards from the PoW and PoS set up through the SELF ecosystem.

“The film production’s movie scripts, movie budget and other information will now be released to allow fans to support the film projects they like,” Hsu said.

SELF users will be able to use the tokens to purchase movie tickets or food and drinks at their partnered restaurants and at SELF-owned bars in Taiwan.
