Multinational consulting firm KPMG has unveiled its partnership with Guardtime, a software security firm, to develop applications for blockchain technology with the aim of creating a more secure, transparent, and traceable way to do business.

Guardtime — established in 2007 — specializes in the development of innovative digital products and services that can be used to offer blockchain-based solutions for customers. Guardtime is also known as a provider of blockchain-based platforms that are scalable and can be implemented for legacy business processes and applications.

The KSI blockchain technology platform created by Guardtime was made to serve as a solution that is secure and performance-oriented. KSI has been implemented in large organizations worldwide, from the government of the Netherlands to the US-based telecommunications firm Verizon and China Food Safety Cloud, among other companies. The success of KSI has demonstrated that blockchain technology can offer immutability and integrity for data processing, facilitating requirements for regulatory compliance, auditing and security in organizations.

The partnership between KPMG and Guardtime is expected to bring about a digital transformation for their clients across many organizations. The new platform is expected to provide strategy, assessment, and design services.

Guardtime CEO Michael Gault said, “Guardtime’s clients are companies that want to transform their business and win in the digital domain. Partnering with KPMG’s blockchain enablement services makes the technology real and gives clients the ability to take them to market across many industries.”

KPMG and Guardtime aims to assist companies in seeking solutions to business issues, including in terms of supply chain, data rights management, compliance procurement, finance, identity management, cloud audit, migration governance and security.

According to KPMG’s National Blockchain leader Arun Ghosh, “Our alliance with Guardtime gives clients access to a secure digital platform. KPMG’s deep business and technical experience along with Guardtime’s blockchain platform drives business transformation in areas that are encumbered with manual processes and where data accuracy, trust, and security are paramount.”
